The Student Council at Laurel elementary provides students with the opportunity to engage in school leadership and decision-making, helping to shape their school environment. By taking on roles such as president, vice president, secretary, or class representative, students gain hands-on experience in leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving. Students learn responsibility, communication skills, teamwork, decision making , problem solving, empathy and advocacy. Through their involvement, students build confidence, learn to serve their school community, and develop leadership skills that will benefit them in future endeavors.
The Student Council Newsletter is a regular publication created by and for elementary school students to keep everyone informed, engaged, and involved in school activities. The newsletter is a fun and informative way to highlight important events, share student achievements, and promote school spirit. It allows students to voice their ideas, share announcements, and stay up-to-date on what’s happening around the school.
